Or even bigger rusty junk. Throw it in vinegar over night first, then wipe it down with a rag.
It turned my terrible exhaust bolts and nuts into nearly new. Now will this work with your rusty project car? Get a pool full of vinegar and find out!
Just thought you guys might have been interested in this info after finding out a couple of my friends didn't know this.

Unless they’re torque to yield bolts, or are actually damaged.

I use it for smaller things, like license plate bolts, and seat screws. I’ll try it out with some bigger stuff.

So, you re-use your dental floss, too? Most bolts are meant for a one-time use. Torqued properly they are not suitable for re-use. If you are just holding the gate out front from flopping, that is fine.

Exhaust bolts are perfectly fine for reuse. Most bolts aren't torque to yield. I have no issue spending money where it's needed. This is more for asthetic reasons then an actual function. Obviously the exhaust bolts will just rust again, but for something like interior bolts, this works wonderfully to give it back a new shine.
